Bio
Jake Ricker is studying at Full Sail University in the Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting and will graduate in November of 2023. Jake has been a sports fan all his life; from an early age, like any other kid, he wanted to play sports. Unfortunately for Jake, he wasn’t very athletic. But that didn’t stop him from pursuing a career in sports, the thing he loved most.
Jake began writing for multiple different websites in middle school. He wrote for places such as LWOB, NHL Shout, and Bay Bolts. Jake wrote about the teams he was passionate about, sharing his love for the teams and sports through his writing. Jake eventually launched his own site called the Bolt Report, where he not only wrote articles about his favorite team but also created a podcast and Twitter page that helps keep fans informed in a new way.
Jake has also had the privilege of broadcasting high school football and baseball games through the Prepzone. He now got to share his passion for the game in a whole new way where listeners could hear and see his love for the game. Jake also called two football games for the Florida Gators Football team, which he still says was one of the best experiences of his career. Now at Full Sail University, Jake looks to continue working hard and learning from any events he can do. You can check out all of his work, from the Bolt Report all the way to what he is doing in the classroom, right here on this site.
Sports Broadcasting Portfolio
This project aimed to provide viewers with a way to get a quick glimpse of who I am and what I do. This video is meant to capture my passion for what I do and why I would be a great candidate for any company.
I really enjoyed recording this and getting to share why I love to broadcast games. If there is one thing that sets me apart from others, it's my love for the game and my craft.

Jake and I spent a few hours together recently working on a podcast. He’s hungry, passionate, and has a professional maturity that is rare for 50-year-olds. Loved teaming with him and his talent is impossible to ignore, and his character is even better!
